Acknowledgement of Country Microskill
Description: Have you ever wondered about why we do an Acknowledgement of Country? What are its origins? What does it mean to Aboriginal people when a non-Aboriginal person does an Acknowledgement of Country? How does an Acknowledgement differ from and relate to a Welcome to Country? How do I do an authentic Acknowledgement of Country? If you have asked yourself these questions, you are not alone!
This course will help answer these questions by explaining the origins, meaning and protocols around Acknowledgement of Country and Welcome to Country. It provides practical resources and tips on how you can conduct an engaging, contextualised Acknowledgement of Country. It has engaging videos that explore key concepts from the perspective of an Aboriginal Elder and an emerging Aboriginal leader.

Electric Vehicle Incident and Emergency Response
Description: Learn how to safely manage electric vehicle incidents with specialised training for responders. Gain the vital skills and knowledge you need to protect your local community.
The presence of vehicles with Lithium-ion batteries is rapidly growing across NSW. With new technologies come a new set of hazards and risks when the technology fails or is involved in an accident on our roads. Understanding and managing these hazards will help to minimise risks to responders and the community and develop confidence in new technologies.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the key features and types of electric vehicles.
- Identify an electric vehicle at an incident.
- Identify and mitigate hazards and risks at an EV incident.
- Undertake safe rescue operations from an electric vehicle.
- Undertake firefighting operations when an electric vehicle battery is compromised.
- Conduct a vehicle handover to recovery partners.
- Safely recover, transport and store a damaged EVs.
