Semester One Reports

04 Jul 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to thank you for your support this past Semester and to let you know about report distribution. This first half of the year has been typically busy and our students are showing constant improvement in application to learning and achieving their learning goals. Years 7, 8, 9 and 11 will receive a hard copy of their reports this week to bring home.

Before receiving their reports students will be doing a reflection on their progress and setting goals for Semester 2. When discussing the report with your child, remember to reflect on what it is saying your child can do and commend them on this. In regards areas like behaviour and non-completion of tasks if these are areas of concern, the conversation should be about your child understanding where improvement is needed and what a reasonable sign of success looks like in the relevant area and what it means to achieve this.

Relevant Year Advisers and Deputy Principals will follow-up with students who are identified as needing more support. If you have concerns regarding your child, our parent teacher night for Years 7 – 11 will be held on July 25 in our School Hall between 4.00 pm – 7.00 pm. Additionally our relieving Head Teacher Wellbeing and Learning Support is Ms Rachel Bugeja, please feel free to call her on the school number 9874 6544 to discuss learning and support follow up.

The last day of the Semester is Friday and it is a regular day teaching and learning day; it is expected all students are at school in uniform – teachers have been directed to teach up to the bell.

I wish all families in our Marsden community a happy and safe two week mid-year break.
